Team USA arrived at LoanDepot Park in style this afternoon, getting ready to face off against Venezuela in the 2026 World Baseball Classic Gold Medal game. Mark DeRosa’s squad is looking to continue an incredible run of USA national teams, following the women’s and men’s hockey teams both winning Olympic gold medals in Milan less than a month ago. For Tuesday’s game, Team USA donned game-worn USA hockey jerseys as they traveled to the stadium.

It turns out that the mastermind behind this fun event is none other than Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, who reached out to Olympic hero and New Jersey Devils player Jack Hughes in hopes of doing something fun for the last game of the tournament.

Crow-Armstrong is not in the starting lineup against southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez, although PCA feels like the perfect substitute for Byron Buxton once Rodriguez leaves the game. The Chicago Cubs have three representatives in the game tonight, meaning at least one member of the group will leave Miami with a gold medal. Crow-Armstrong and Alex Bregman will suit up for Team USA, as Daniel Palencia will look to help bring Team Venezuela its first gold medal.
