Alex Bregman Exits After Taking Foul Ball to Face in On-Deck Circle
Alex Bregman suffered a freak injury when a foul ball on a check swing from Michael Busch struck him in the face while he was standing in the on-deck circle. He immediately covered his face and was bleeding as he left for the locker room. It appears to have been either a bloody nose or a cut near his eye, similar to what you’d see in combat sports.
Bregman was removed from the game and replaced by Matt Shaw. More to come when we have specifics, but let’s just hope this is one of those injuries that looks a lot worse than it really is.
